The lists provided in this book act as a testament to the idiocy of some people. Even those that hold top positions in our society did not get there based upon their intelligence.

5-0 out of 5 stars Uproarious And Seditious - What I LIKE About The Funny Pages!
This comic isn't to everyone's taste.Let's get that right out of the way.It likes to talk about what the comics usually doesn't - death, sex, cynicism, other comics - and yet it does so in a way that you can't help but love.
5-0 out of 5 stars Lot of laughs
This had to be great. I mean just the cover made me laugh and with Stephan Pastis's commentary and introduction, it was about the best comic treasury i have ever read. I have forty different comic treasuries and this is the crown of my collection. Thank you Stephan Pastis; you have made me laugh uncontrollably several times! Something that only the sarcasm, exagerration, and satire in Pearles Before Swine can do. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars More and More get fuzzy.
I adore the get fuzzy series. It doesn't run in our local paper so I have to buy the collections. It's wonderful. I love the intelligence and interaction of the characters. I've even got my six-year-old son hooked.

5-0 out of 5 stars Dog and Cat Owners Prepare To HOWL!
Get Fuzzy is our favorite comic strip in our household. We have dogs and cats...one cat that has earned the new nickname of Bucky the Cat and one yellow Labrador who is definitely Satchel come to life!Non-pet owners will get a kick out of these great collections, but PET OWNERS, esp if you own a cat AND a dog, my best advice is Do Not Eat Or Drink While Reading...you'll ruin your Get Fuzzy Book for sure, or you may choke...either way no fun...otherwise ALL the Get Fuzzy Books are really fun...I've never laughed so hard in my life!If our cats and dogs COULD talk to us, I imagine it wouldn't be a lot different than the world created by the wonderful creator of the Get Fuzzy Comic Strips!GREAT PET OWNERS GIFT TOO!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars I wish I had created this book
I love the silly, sarcastic, even grotesque images and captions in Bad Cat. I laugh so hard I run to the toilet every time I read it and am obliged to stay there for the duration. Then I laugh so hard I'm afraid I will fall off the pot or have an aneurysm. Sorry, I know my description of my reaction is graphic, but this just might happen to you, too. Buy, beg or borrow this book if you can. When is the next one comiing out?

5-0 out of 5 stars Great gift for a .......
Great gift for a ....... birthday, stocking stuffer, ect. for the cat lover in your life. I didn't have the chance to look through the book and wrapped it up as a gift for sister's birthday as soon as it came in. Well lets just say that when she started reading and showing the pictures in the book at her party, I laughed so hard I got a headache. Well worth the 10 bucks.

5-0 out of 5 stars I'm a fan
Kurt Vonnegut knows how to draw your attention, and it's often only after you've finished the book that you realize the level of seriousness that he was trying to portray.
5-0 out of 5 stars Wampeters, Foma, & Granfalloons
Cat's Cradle is basically a unique and creative look at the end of the world. To me, Vonnegut is arguing that the dizzying progress of science and technology in the last century has made the total destruction of life on earth a frightening possibility, and it's not just the "bad guys" that threaten humanity with annihilation:an equal threat comes from the well-intentioned but short-sighted, from the lonely or downtrodden, from the greatest superpower to the tiniest and poorest island nation.
4-0 out of 5 stars Okay, but too short
Didn't know what to expect.Thought it might be difficult reading for some reason.Turns out it was pretty easy.I guess it just gives you a lot to think about instead of looking up words and things like that.I think it could have been a 4.5-5 star book if the story would have been expanded upon to at least 500pp, or at least long enough to develop the characters. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent introduction to a great comic
This strip isn't carried locally but I saw the reviews here on Amazon and decided to give it a try. I love it! Compared to the staleness of many comic strips, Pastis has created a world that's insane and hilarious. This is my new favorite and now I have to start lobbying my local paper to carry PBS.
5-0 out of 5 stars Excelente
Una muy buena coleccion de unos comics muy buenos... se los recomiendo a todos, me gustaron muchos las notas del autor.... estoy esperando la proxima coleccion en octubre....

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun, hilarious, and informative!
First and most important, this book is hilarious. However, that's subjective, so I'll talk about something else. It's a nice deal for two or three books crammed into one. The quality seems pretty good as my book is still intact. Another one of its great features is the intro by Pastis and his comments throughout the book, which are enlightening and as hilarious as the comics themselves. This is my first comic book purchase (I've always just read them in the paper) and I plan on buying Pastis' other treasuries. ... Read more

This would have to be one of the funniest books.I love cats, I have two of them but they are not the right animal for a lot of people and this little book explains why.I loved it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for pet owners with a sense of humor!
All of the bad reviews for this book complain that it's not a normal comic book.Well, no - as it says in the description, it's a palm-sized gift book. It's not meant to be a gigantic comic strip book highlighting the best Get Fuzzy strips. What it is, though, is an excellent gift for a cat or dog lover that appreciates sarcasm.Darby Conley is a genius, and this book is perfect as what it's meant to be. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The underwater equivalent of a Freudian analysis text on human behavior
The Sherman's Lagoon cartoon strip is the underwater equivalent of a Freudian analysis text on human behavior - as seen from a shark's point of view. Sherman is an amiable great white shark who faces uncertain friendships, eats adversaries, and longingly eyes the appetizing 'hairless beach apes' above water. The cast of supporting characters are endearing and all familiar psychological figures, from a macho hermit crab to a turtle with a positive outlook on life. The strips in this 11th collection are presented in black and white, and while color would have made more of an impact, the end result of PLANET OF THE HAIRLESS BEACH APES is no less compelling.

2-0 out of 5 stars Cute, but not funny.
I bought this and Bad Cats the other day, and I have to say Bad Cats was far better. Bad Dogs is cute, but a little stupid. Almost all of the photos are dogs wearing costumes. Bad Dogs? No, Bad OWNERS. Get Bad Cats instead.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Book!!!
First of all I have to say the book is defiently worth the money. It dosent have a ton of funny parts but the parts it does have are enough to make you and/or a friend crack up. The only problems are that it dosent have many hilarious pages and its not as good as bad cat. If youre looking for book that will make you laugh then get bad dog and bad cat but if you have to decide which one get bad cat, although bad dog is good enough to buy. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Calvin and Hobbes
This book is called Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson. This book is great. It's very entertaining and funny. This book could be read by adults and children. Some words are difficult. It's a comic strip. The characters are Calvin and Hobbes. Calvin has a very big imagination. Hobbes is his stuffed toy and he thinks it a real tiger. It has many stories and they are all funny. It's cool. I want all people to read it. It's cool, funny, and very ammusing. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Brilliant.
Andy Riley, The Book of Bunny Suicides (Plume, 2003)
5-0 out of 5 stars Wickedly funny!
Unlike other reviewers who discovered this gem at a local bookstore, I actually found out about "Bunny Suicides" while thumbing through a copy of Entertainment Weekly. There was a quick blurb about "Suicides" under a section featuring up-and-coming books, movies, & music. After seeing the initial mention in EW, I decided to order the book, not knowing what to expect. Much to my delight, I found "Suicides" to be a clever and wickedly funny read. I think most anyone will get a good giggle from this book, as they watch a bunch of bunnies trying to find ridiculously funny (and improbable) ways to commit suicide. I noticed one or two reviewers who found "Suicides" to be extremely distasteful, but personally I found the comedy neither crude nor offensive. It's dark humor, at worst.
1-0 out of 5 stars AVOID
I can't believe a human being would actually laugh at this sort of thing.Watching rabbits die is NOT funny. They are tender, adorable loving creatures that mother nature brought into this world for people to respect. You're not supposed to enjoy suicide bunny stories. Please don't buy this book.I don't want a book like this falling into the hands of an innocent child.Even an adult purchasing something like this is wrong on SO many levels. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Delicious when fried
There are some jokes out there that are so classic they've passed the point where they're funny anymore. Knock-knock jokes fall into this category. Light bulb jokes too. And then there's the best one of them all. Why-did-the-chicken-cross-the-road jokes. Boy oh boy you just can't make anyone laugh with one of those anymore, can you? Well that's the way my thinking would have gone had I not picked up a bizarre little picture book title by the same name. In this book fourteen different children's illustrators are each granted a two-page spread to offer their answer to this, the oldest of questions. No two answers are exactly alike and no two illustrators have styles even vaguely similar. It makes for a book that kids will adore, grown-ups will pore over, and insipient illustrators will want to keep very close at hand.

5-0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Strip
I have long been a fan of Calvin and Hobbes and for a time, it was the only strip that would make me laugh out loud. Get Fuzzy has quickly joined that elite rank for me. There isn't a strip out there today that's better. Bucky's antics are hilarious and Rob's attempts to cope with his two crazy and erratic pets are beyond funny.

5-0 out of 5 stars A great cat, a great artist
Jones was the cat of Hunter S. Thompson. Ralph Steadman, the artist for many of Thompson's books, was at his house on numorous occasions and made various scetches of the cat. After jones had been dead for some time and Ralph famous, this slim volume was published as a tribute.2-0 out of 5 stars Appeal lost on me
As one who loves good literature and cats, I was eager to own this book after reading the reviews.I was disappointed with each and every page!I found the story and the 'characters' lacking both depth and interest.I amnot familiar with the author, but closed the book wishing he had allowedsomeone else to put his sketches to word.

5-0 out of 5 stars It was a very enjoyable and easy book to read.
This was a very enjoyable book, especially for cat lovers. As a person who has nine inside cats, I really understand the personality of Jones and can see how he got under Ralph's skin. The drawings are wonderful, and eventhough I personally didn't know Jones, I felt like I did. I give this book5 stars and recommend it to anyone who likes cats. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars great for teen boy
This was a great gift for my teenage boy who asks a million questions about all sorts of things!

4-0 out of 5 stars This is not "Imponderables Ten". It's book one under a new title.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's not a new book, just a new title!
Ok, let me say this- the IMPONDERABLES series of books, by David Feldman, is a great series. They offer answers to many of Life's odd question, the one you ponder over, but can't just look up somewhere.Well, until now.

5-0 out of 5 stars There's a reason you don't see hens in pants
This deceptively simple read-aloud will appeal to all from ages 3 to 93. Each two-page spread features one animal wearing some very inappropriate piece of clothing, accompanied by a quick explanation of why it's wrong for this animal to wear this particular article. For example, a kangaroo would find a coat with pockets "quite unneccessary" and a moose might find suspenders hard to "manage." The illustrations are a particular delight; the animals have very droll expressions and the problems are depicted with some subtlety which will encourage dialogue during a read aloud. This 1970 title truly has stood the test of time!

5-0 out of 5 stars Very fun book
I used to read this as a child all the time. It was the most enjoyable book and very funny to look at the pictures and it is easy to read.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very cute book!
We got this book as a Weekly Reader edition in our QVC pack and it's just great.I have to read this one almost nightly - it's just so funny to see all these animals dressed in clothes. My favorite personally is the last one with the elephant wearing a dress: "because it might be embarrassing."The elephant has the same dress on as the lady in front of her.Pretty cute stuff. And hey, you need to buy it just to see the hen try to lay an egg in a pair of pants! Great book, we laugh ourselves silly over this one. ... Read more
