5-0 out of 5 stars I wish I had created this book
I love the silly, sarcastic, even grotesque images and captions in Bad Cat. I laugh so hard I run to the toilet every time I read it and am obliged to stay there for the duration. Then I laugh so hard I'm afraid I will fall off the pot or have an aneurysm. Sorry, I know my description of my reaction is graphic, but this just might happen to you, too. Buy, beg or borrow this book if you can. When is the next one comiing out?

5-0 out of 5 stars Great gift for a .......
Great gift for a ....... birthday, stocking stuffer, ect. for the cat lover in your life. I didn't have the chance to look through the book and wrapped it up as a gift for sister's birthday as soon as it came in. Well lets just say that when she started reading and showing the pictures in the book at her party, I laughed so hard I got a headache. Well worth the 10 bucks.

5-0 out of 5 stars FUNNY STUFF!
This is, by far, the most hilarious book that I have ever gotten my hands on.You don't even have to be a cat lover to enjoy this odd sense of humor and these crazy kitty pictures! ... Read more

Editorial Review

An enchanting series of stories about the evolution of theuniverse. Calvino makes characters out of mathematical formulae and simplecellular structures. They disport themselves amongst galaxies, experience the solidification of planets, move from aquatic toterrestrial existence, play games with hydrogen atoms -- and havetime for a love life. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars kid lit
I really liked this book, not because it only took 2 days to read such a short collection of pages, but because it was like reading a child's book about the creation of the universe. Calvino is so very creative, I can't help but wonder if he was stoned when he thought of this idea...Non, non, ce n'est pas possible.Read it if you yourself are creative and looking for something fun to read.If you are overly serious and melancholic, then do not bother.

5-0 out of 5 stars Scientific Musings, Delightful Comedy, and Pure Fantasy - Imaginative Tales by a Master
How does one describe Italo Calvino? A superb, imaginative story teller? A startlingly creative writer? Author of provocative, compelling, fantastical fiction?
3-0 out of 5 stars ingenuous creativity, but bland at times
This is a collection of science-fiction short stories about the infinity of our universe, through the experience of Qfwfq, the main character. The infinity of space in our universe is also transposed into the infinity of time, and consequently Qfwfq is immortal and often shapeless. The beauty of the book emanates from the radical originality of Calvino's creative thought process. In these stories, he applies a scientific process to his humor, describing the vagaries of his characters, situations and the space of the universe in general, with scientific reasoning.

4-0 out of 5 stars Lewis is at it again...
From the author of several fantastic books, comes a great short synopsis leadership, motivation and team dynamics.
5-0 out of 5 stars A Must Read for All Players, Parents and Coaches
As a coach at a prep school, the experiences that Coach Fitz is dealing with are all too familiar.Michael Lewis puts together a touching work that causes the reader to stop and think.
5-0 out of 5 stars Must Read Book
As a former High School and College Baseball player, and a current high school baseball coach, I have never read a book that epitomizes youth baseball today more than this one. Lewis' description of his experiences, and his coaches experiences, regarding todays parents/athletes could not be better. Every parent of a youth/high school athlete should read this book before they even consider complaining to their child's coach. I am only in my mid 20's and I can relate to many of the experiences described in this book. It's a very quick read as well. If I could give it 100 stars I would. For those readers who complained about the length of the book, yes it is a quick read but the book only costs 10 dollars.Anyone who is looking for a lengthy book should know not to purchase a book that is 90 pages long. For those of you who were, and then bought the book, that's your own fault.Great book. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars From a Hampden-Sydney Man
In the fall, freshmen acquired the L.L. Bean catalogs of the men who'd graduated in the previous spring; the expectation was that the tradition would continue. As an alumnus (1990) from one of the nation's preppiest colleges, I have to say that this book is spot on.Birnbach captures the spirit of the aforementioned anecdote. The traditions of the Preppy are enduring, and the style never dies.

5-0 out of 5 stars definately THE handbook
Though some of the clothing examples are slightly outdated (preppy girls don't wear long skirts anymore ,just go to Abercrombie or J.Crew and take a look, and the SUV has replaced the station wagon), most of this book is so dead on its not even funny. Going to prep school, I look back with pride and honor at this book. Its really a collectors item, and even more preppy beacuse it is out of print!

5-0 out of 5 stars Meticulous Look at Preppy Life
This book written in 1980 says that the Preppy outlook is timeless. As a non-prep, I can't vouch for all the features, but as for clothes and jobs it still holds true.Putting aside all the details in this book (which are many) is a certain "je n'est ce what the f*ck" unique to the preppy worldview that this author has revealed.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pretty Funny
I thumbed through the book at the bookstore and laughed so hard at the jokes, I had to buy it. It's actually a smart book with a lot of sarcastic jokes. I wouldn't really buy it for someone who's about to go to college, but its great for those who are in college who could laugh at all the jokes because they get it.
5-0 out of 5 stars just what you would expect from collegehumor
they say it was used, but it looks brand new to me, its deff worth reading if your a college student, or going into college

4-0 out of 5 stars Laughs inter-twined with legitamate advice... I think
This book is definatley laugh out loud hilarious. It is very well written, though my only problem with it is that there is no way to discern between joking and serious advice. Most of the time it is obvious, but on occaision I seriously was wondering wheather they were being serious or sarcastic. Either way it's funny! ... Read more

This is an amazing quote book. I manage a large office of creative staff and I
4-0 out of 5 stars Lots of Profound Quotations
I REALLY like reading quotations & this book is FULL of them, BUT the author, John Shanahan, has attempted his 15 minutes of fame by including his own quotations, most of which I read & said, "HUH??" because they are not up to the same quality as the others. However, it IS his book! Great read, tho!

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Good and Very Funny
Even if you are not a golf fan I suggest you read this book. I am only a casual golf fan, and still found this book to be good. Reilly tells his experience with each golfer with a lot of humor and insight on how each one lives, plays the game of golf, and how they deal with certain aspects of the golf world and life itself. You will find yourself laughing out loud during this book (especially during his experience at The Masters). If you like golf, you will love this book! If you don't, you will still find it to be worth your time.

4-0 out of 5 stars LAUGH OUT LOUD FUNNY!
Laugh out loud funny - I own the book and this purchase was for a friend and colleage that appreciates the same dry wit and humor that I do. Rick Reilly strikes again!

5-0 out of 5 stars Lauded SI writer - surprises inside
Still, he's a lauded SI writer, so don't expect Pulitzer Prize material, Augusta-Gate revealed, or John Daly's home number. This isn't for diehard golf fanatics who want to know what the pro's eat for breakfast, or who want a career-spanning synopsis of their impact on golf. This is a series of snapshots in time. Some loops last a couple of days, others a couple of hours.Either way, previous reviewers have hit the nail on the head by calling these (stories/chapters) a book of vignettes.

3-0 out of 5 stars Average
I picked up this book since I'm a fan of magic and especially Penn and Teller, but was rather disappointed with this book.
3-0 out of 5 stars HEY PENN AND TELLER FANS!
I bought this book new, and I did get all the extra stuff that came with the book.Trust me, the book itself is all ya need.other than that, the exrta book doesnt have anything really important in it.if anything at all.The book is the most important thing. All you need is just a pair of red and blue 3d glasses for the rest of the stuff in the book if you read the first couple pages you will understand. It is a strange book due to the fact that the majority of the book is just to fool your friends. It doesn have great stories and some good tricks though.out of all 3 books, this is my least favorite but still one of my top 3 all time favs because of the authors.

3-0 out of 5 stars If you buy, make sure it comes with ALL accessories!
Please take note that this book originally came with a packet of trick accessories and another, smaller book.If you buy this book used and all you get is the main book, then many of the tricks in the book will be useless to you.Such is the case that happened with me.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A bit of a let down compared to Vol 1!
After a great Vol 1, Vol 2 is a little bit of a let-down. Or am I expecting too much ? The drawings are larger which automatically shorthen the contents. Also, some of the graphics seem rush, not as gorgeous as Vol 1. Plotwise Vol 2 is as the summary depicts plus our 2 boys do consumate their love here. No major surprise in plot here unlike in some recently released Yaoi/BL (the Yaoi "Gerard and Jacques" as an example, which gives much more than I bargain for).

5-0 out of 5 stars Powerful Information!
This book is small in size but very SOLID in its IMPACT. It FEELS GOOD and it's got a GREAT LOOK through out . . . however, it sometimes makes a terribly distracting SOUND!
4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent if a little wierd
Excellent book, very much in tune with Erickson. It provides an understanding of hypnosis...or whatever it is that happens.
5-0 out of 5 stars Crazy Stuff
I just couldn't stop reading this book. The authors writing is very hypnotic, I found my self drifting off while enjoying this book. He tells you the basics to NLP and Hypnosis and tells a bunch of little stories to really help you understand. I love this book, After I finished I decided I would read it all over again. I would have read it again right after I finished if time had permitted it. But I really enjoyed this book and I can't stress it enough, If you are interested in hypnosis or NLP you NEED to READ this book! IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!

5-0 out of 5 stars This original title changed my life
This review won't change your life. But it could make you happier. The book is amazing, different and new, although italready has a 2nd part. I read it in the bathroom, in the ofice, in a spacesgip and I usually wake up and open the book in a different page to see if that day I can do what the book tells me. I have also found other ways of using the book. It can be fiction, it can be a weapon and it can a be a good thing to start a conversation. ... Read more

All the self-help books are beginning to sound the same.NOT SO with Geek Logik. From a psychology perspective, I think following Garth Sundem's advice may be the best thing since Freud (sorry Garth). His approach is not only intuitively sound but mathematically sound (so he claims). It's a difficult book to put down except when you're laughing so hard you can no longer see the words.Merry Christmas to my whole Christmas list!

4-0 out of 5 stars The original survival book.
The book is extremely entertaining and it might save your life, too. It covers scenarios James Bond would aspire to.
5-0 out of 5 stars tongue in cheek
I enjoyed all of the worst case scenario books. There are several in the series. Each has a few helpful hints but is essentially packed with tongue in cheek advice about surviving various circumstances; your job, parenthood, and this book is a general survival guide.
4-0 out of 5 stars Hilarious!
I bought this book for my son because it's on his "wish list." I laughed so loud in my bathroom that my husband thought I'd won the war with my grey hair again (I pluck them religiously). The book is so funny but matter-of-factly, I couldn't help but making mental notes when I read the section, "How to land a plane." Do I feel safer when I travel? You bet! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A book ALL Archaeologists / Historians should read
If you are a fan of David Macaulay's books about the contruction of such wonders as a Cathedral, Pyramid, City, Mill, etc ... then you will really enjoy this book about future archaeologists / explorers "discovering" the burried ruins of an American motel room in the 41st century ... and the miss-identification of just about every item found.4-0 out of 5 stars Motel of the Mysteries
I think this book is creatively written to get young people to read, and to get a good laugh about how people in the future look at people in the past.

4-0 out of 5 stars Motel of the Mysteries

3-0 out of 5 stars Interesting `How To' and `What With' Manual (3.5*s)
One could wonder if there is a need for this book? The author makes no attempt to supply any data concerning how widespread the desire or practice is for straight girls wanting to engage with other females. Her data collection seems to be rather limited - hardly scientific. In any event, the book is interesting and informative.
2-0 out of 5 stars overhyped and basically useless
Ok lets get down to why you should save your money and NOT get this book. First of all the author dedicates two or three chapters on WHY chicks should sleep with chicks. Well if your buying this book then I would think that your already curious or interested, correct? Then the author shares some really great "secrets" on the where and how to pick up other chicks, let me take the time to write some of them down here for you, first this no brainer, "Get them intoxicated, and my all time favorite,"take them behind a dumpster and get them to smoke weed". The author then fills the book up with helpfull hints like, "go put an ad on the internet"Dang, I would have never thought of that!! In summary, you can buy this book if you want, but don't expect anything other than common sense stuff, and I use the term VERY lightly!! Thank you for your time.

2-0 out of 5 stars Women, don't let this book poison your mind
It's trying to turn straight women into leabians. If more women read this book they will just be influnce by it and start sleeping with women and no more men will have a woman. Don't Jen Sincero even cares about men. I hate lesbians cause they hate men. ... Read more
